Ms. Ramirez is a Night Senior Custodian in the Brentwood School District and a shop steward. She became a member of Local 237 in 2007 – her first title was “Custodial 1”. The daughter of Puerto Rican parents, she grew up in and attended Brentwood public schools.

She supervises 4 workers and feels they do a great job. She makes sure members are informed about their benefits and union and helps younger members understand the importance of union membership. Ms. Ramirez works the night shift and looks after her parents during the day.  She has 2 sisters, one, as well as a nephew, works for the Brentwood School District. Her daughter is Vanessa Rivera, 31.  She describes herself as a “foodie” who enjoys going out to eat.
