School safety officers busted a 15-year-old boy who was trying to smuggle two air pistols into a Brooklyn high school Thursday.

Before classes began, the teen got into a fight with another student outside of Edward R. Murrow High School on Ave. L near E. 16th St. in Midwood, officials said.

School safety officers searched the teen as he came into the school and found two air pistols on him.

He also had a bag of pellets and a cartridge in his book bag for the air pistols, according to members of Teamsters Local 237, which represents school safety officers.

Cops took the teen into custody, officials said. Charges were pending.

“Nothing is more important than the safety of students and staff,” said city Education Department spokeswoman Toya Holness. “The NYPD immediately responded to Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn and recovered two BB guns. Students and staff are safe, and we will ensure appropriate follow-up action is taken.”

Murrow High School does not have metal detectors, officials said.

The air pistol discovery comes amid a streak of weapon confiscations at city schools since the start of the academic year.

On Wednesday, cops grabbed a 16-year-old Queens middle school student trying to bring a BB gun into the Robert F. Wagner Middle School on 30th Place near 47th Ave. in Long Island City, officials said.
