Labor Day 2002
The city's annual Labor Day Parade, which traditionally is held on the first Monday in September, is being replaced this year by a special Labor Day celebration at Battery Park on Tuesday September 3. Labor Day this year falls on the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah.
This year's Labor Day event will focus on the "State of the Worker," while continuing the tradition of bringing NYC working families together in celebration of the Labor Day holiday. It will also mark the first anniversary of the 9-11 tragedy.
Members are asked to mark the date on their calendars, and look out for details of the celebration in the next few weeks.
