237 Welcomes New Members


The New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission’s Uniformed Services Bureau graduated 16 new law enforcement officers on August 23 with a formal ceremony at 40 Rector Street.

The Graduating Class of July 2002 included Jean Aujla, Olga Baez, Desean Casado, Anthony DePalma, Ramon Freire, Gennady Garber, Gary Hayes, Nicholas Healy, Eikeren Johnson, Howard Katz, Juan Alberto Olivera, Jorge Ortega, Carlos M. Romero, Clifford Tillman, Kenneth Ward and Michael Worsham.

Nicholas Healy was valedictorian and Gennady Garber was salutatorian.

Peter Gutierrez, Local 237’s assistant director for the Citywide Division, welcomed the new TLC officers to the union in his address to the group after Peter M. Mazer, deputy commissioner and general counsel, had administered the oath of office.
