Applications Available for Summer Camp

Scholarship applications for the Central Labor Council’s Summer Camp Program, which offers children of union members the opportunity to spend some time during their summer vacation in healthy, fun-filled activities, are available from Local 237.

Applications can be obtained from Recording Secretary Eunice Rodriguez. She said the applications should be obtained and returned as quickly as possible to get the best choice. Once the Local receives the completed application, it forwards it to the Central Labor Council with a scholarship check for $50 to cover the application.

There are about a dozen different camps available in this year’s program, most of which are co-ed, but some are limited to girls only. The age range for prospective campers is 6 to 19.

The periods of time open to the children vary from one week to a month and the fees for most are on a sliding scale based on income. Proof of income will be required by the camp.

A listing of all the camps available in the program this year and phone numbers may be obtained from the Local with the scholarship application.

All fees and deposits must be paid directly to the camp, and parents must contact the location they select to register their child, or children.
