Double Honors for Gregory Floyd

Completes Cornell Leadership Course

President Gregory Floyd was one of 39 graduates in the Class of 2007 at the New York State AFL-CIO/Cornell Union Leadership Institute (ULI). A graduation ceremony was held July 20 at Cornell’s Industrial Labor Relations (ILR) School in Ithaca, N.Y.

Fred B. Kotler, director of the New York State AFL-CIO/Cornell Union Leadership Institute, presents Gregory Floyd with his graduation certificate as Lee Adler, the school’s associate director, looks on.

“I’m grateful for the privilege of studying under such visionary instructors,” said Floyd, “and for sharing the experience with a dynamic and progressive group of labor leaders.” The graduates completed six rigorous seminars and two directed study projects over the course of the year.

The curriculum is designed to hone leadership and administration skills, teach labor history and current events, and strengthen the labor movement by helping establish relationships among union leaders.
