No matter how you cut it, it's just not right. America’s workers are putting in more hours than ever and still struggling to make ends meet. Meanwhile, the CEOs of large U.S. companies averaged $10.8 million in total compensation in 2006, more than 364 times the pay of the average worker, according to the latest survey by the group United for a Fair Economy.

So how do we level the playing field and get our economy back on track? Rebuilding the middle class is the place to start.

The Employee Free Choice Act can help reclaim the American Dream by restoring workers' freedom to form unions and bargain for a brighter future. Our recent success at UPS Freight demonstrates the desire of Americans to join unions once an employer's union-busting tactics are neutralized.

For nearly 50 years, Overnite Transportation fought unionization. But once UPS bought Overnite, and the Teamsters won a neutrality agreement from the newly formed UPS Freight, more than 11,000 drivers and dockworkers signed authorization cards to join the union in just 12 weeks.

Our goal is to give all workers that same freedom. The freedom to choose a union without interference from their employers. We want to gather signatures and photos in support of this bill—1 million voices calling for passage of the Employee Free Choice Act. But 1 million people is a lot. We won't reach our goal without your help and the help of your friends and family.
