For Immediate Release Contact: Jay Strell Mayoral candidates Councilman Tony Avella and Comptroller Bill Thompson as well as candidates for Public Advocate and Comptroller will address union members and answer their questions in public forum NEW YORK—Teamsters Local 237 will host its first ever candidates forum for Mayor, Comptroller and Public Advocate at Hilton New York Hotel on Saturday, April 18 at 9:30AM. The candidates will address members of the union and answer their questions. Mayoral candidates include: Councilman Tony Avella and Comptroller Bill Thompson; Public Advocate candidates include: Councilmen Bill de Blasio and Eric Gioia, Mark Green, and Norman Siegel; Comptroller candidates include: Councilmen John Liu and David Yassky. The forum will be moderated by New York Daily News Columnist Errol Louis. Teamsters Local 237 represents 9,000 employees of the New York City Housing Authority, another 11,000 members work in New York City agencies, the Board of Education, New York City Police Department the City University of New York and the Health and Hospital Corporation.
