Where were the masks, soap and hand-sanitizer for Maintenance Workers and Caretakers at the Housing Authority, the union that represents 8,000 NYCHA employees asked.
Gregory Floyd, president of Teamsters Local 237, said during an April 8 phone interview that the union first pushed five weeks earlier for personal protective equipment for his members in order to minimize the risk of contracting the coronavirus. But staff continue to work without face shields.
