Enrique Lebron

Caretaker X
NYCHA – Tompkins Houses
Housing Division

Mr. Lebron became a member of Local 237 in 2001 starting as a Caretaker J.   He loves the benefits that come with union membership.  Mr. Lebron has been a shop steward for about 9 years – at Blvd. Houses, Marcy Houses and now, at Tompkins Houses.

He feels it is important to speak out, doesn’t like to see people taken advantage of and enjoys helping his co-workers.  Mr. Lebron takes pride in his work.  He is responsible for getting apartments ready for new tenants.  He enjoys his job, but acknowledges that being a shop steward is often difficult.

Lebron and his wife of 23 years, Christine Tecito, have 7 children – and he has 2 grown children. He likes to be active with his family and enjoys going to the movies, shopping, hiking upstate and bike-riding. The Lebron family hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico.
